The Woolgoolga Lakeside Reserve will be receiving some much needed attention in 2020 thanks to a successful grant submission to the NSW Government by Prosper Coffs Harbour Limited’s Protection of the Environment Trust.
The project will include the establishment of a walking track that will provide a key accessible link between the Woolgoolga reserve and the Beach. The lake embankment will also be stabilised to prevent further erosion and loss of mature trees through a coir wall and revegetation.
This will provide an opportunity for more habitat along the Woolgoolga Lake to thrive while protecting the foreshore for recreational use.
The project was listed along with 15 others through the My Community Project application round. Thanks to the public vote the Woolgoolga Lake project was selected along with two others submitted by local community organisations.
Prosper Coffs Harbour’s Protection of the Environment Trust will continue to deliver important projects in the community that promote protection and enhancement of the natural environment within the Coffs Harbour region.
